Judging

VIDEO CRITIQUES

Every routine will receive video critiques to ensure dancers are getting the most out of their critiques. Video critiques provide the dancer with the opportunity to see what a judge is referring to as it happens.   

JUDGES

Three judges will make up our panel of judges. The following categories will be judged:

TECHNIQUE & SYNCHRONIZATION (40 points) 

Control, balance, extensions, turns, elevations, body lines, placement, flexibility 

EXECUTION & SHOWMANSHIP (35 points)

Precision, clarity, synchronization, rhythm, musicality, timing

Personality, confidence, energy, emotion, projection, focus, interaction

CHOREOGRAPHY & OVERALL APPEARANCE (25 points) 

Staging, difficulty, use of stage, variety, transitions, use of props, creativity, originality

Costume originality/fit/design, make-up/hair, appropriateness 

MAXIMUM POSSIBLE POINTS 

300 points (100 points per judge)
