ENTRIES
All entries must be paid in full by the given due date. No exceptions. Failure to pay by the due date will result in the studio being removed from the competition. No changes to any entries two weeks prior to the competition date. All entries are final and nonrefundable.
SCHEDULE
Everyone will have access to the schedule through our website. Every routine is assigned a performance time. We suggest dancers are ready to dance a half hour before their scheduled performance time in the event the competition is running ahead of schedule. All entries must compete on the day and time assigned. Routines will perform in order. If the backstage manager sees potential delays due to costume changes, you may be asked to compete out of order.
PHOTO & VIDEO
Photography and video recording is strictly prohibited. Failure to abide by this rule can result in disqualification for the studio. It is the studio's responsibility to inform your dancers, parents and guests of this rule.
PROPS
Please alert the backstage manager of any props that will be used before your performance time. Props must be loaded in and out of the venue on the same day they are used. All props must be safe. NO fire, glass, swords, etc. Props must be set up and removed from the stage in a reasonable time frame. Live animals are prohibited on stage. No helium balloons permitted.
PROTESTS
No protest of any kind during the competition. We value all opinions; however, we pride ourselves on running a fair and organized competition. If you have an issue or complaint, we encourage you to submitted in writing and send it to our main office. We guarantee a response. Age protests are allowed and must be submitted in writing to the director of the show within 30 minutes of the routine performance in question.
CONDUCT
Dancers, teacher and guests are expected to behave in an appropriate manner at all times. This includes in the dressing room, backstage, on stage and in the audience. Any inappropriate behavior that is witnessed by any BOTB staff member will be addressed immediately and the studio affiliated will receive team deductions.
COMPETITION LEVELS
BOTB does not offer levels of competition. Every routine will be adjudicated based on their age division. Adjudication is different for each age division. For example, a mini can earn a platinum award at a score of 80 where a senior would need a score of 90 or higher to earn a platinum award.
SINGING
Live signing with a microphone is NOT allowed. Live singing without a microphone is permitted in the Musical Theater and Character categories.
ADMISSION
Audience admission is free. However, some events will require payment for parking.
